    "Fresh Aire 8"

Chip Davis' musical invention, the Mannheim Steamroller returns this week with the 8th installment of the Fresh Aire series. The topic of the 8th album is Infinity, as Chip Davis evolves the 8 tracks on this album as "Topics Of Infinity." And, as usual, this album is another assortment of beautifully crafted music put together.

The album begins with the Greek Thinkers Suite, consisting of the first 4 tracks. The first 2, "Main Titles" and "Greek Suite: Day Party" are good sounding soundtrack music. For the pleasant, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, "Greek Suite: Interlude 8" easily fits this mood. A touch of Progressive Rock adds to the flavor of "Greek Suite: Night Party." A more Rock approach, and another easy choice for soundtrack music is heard on "Greek Suite: Goddesses In The Forest."

"The Big Bang" has a spacey atmosphere, making its sound unique to the other tracks on the album. Classical music fans will enjoy such tracks as "Leonardo," "Waterfall," and "The Circle Of Love." (The latter two songs mentioned are definitely standouts to listen to.)

"Fractals" is "Unusually crafted" ... It has (What I call) a "bow and arrow" sound effect, which draws your attention. Like the track "The Big Bang," it has a spacey atmosphere. "The Steamroller" has a a Rock approach, and "The Heart And The Feather" is a another good soundtrack music track; a good way to close out the album.

No doubt, Fresh Aire 8 is another good rendition of peaceful music, only Chip Davis & The Mannheim Steamroller can provide. They've always achieved greatness in their music, likewise their Christmas albums. Their albums are great while working in the office, or just easily relaxing in your favorite comfy chair. Fresh Aire 8 was the last album of this series. After the year 2000, Mannheim Steamroller focused on releasing more Christmas albums.
