Surface -- a group of R&B/Soul singers laced in the romantic side of music,
as their third album, 3 Deep resulted a #1 song, "The First Time"
(1991).
3 Deep has incredible romance songs, a very easy atmosphere of music
needed for those "special times." There isn't a bad song on this release, especially
for those who enjoy this kind of romance music. Easily fitting the Smooth Jazz
format, even a bit more romance than that of BoyZ II Men.
The first six songs have the romance style: "The First Time," "Give Her
Your Love," All I Want Is You," "Tomorrow," "You're The One," "Never Gonna Let
You Down." The remaining songs "10," "Don't Wanna Turn You Off," "When
It Comes To Love," "ain't Givin' Up," "Love X Trust," "Kid Stuff."
The soft, love ballads are the standout tracks on 3 Depp. The
remaining tracks of upbeat dance tunes sounds just the same as the other
popular artists of the time. A whole album of love songs would be better, and
I'm sure
If you're familiar with this group's only
#1 song, each song on this release is in that same fashion. For all the
hopeless romantics in all of us, Surface has its roots in everlasting love, and
keeping the romance alive.
