The Renovators -- This is a band that I really rant and rave about. Great R&B, Blues, Country. They were promoted on The WSVNRadio Hall Of Fame, Volume 9. Their latest album at that time, was Blues Country, and the title track was featured on Volume 9. Since then, they've appeared on two other special WSVNRadio compilations: "You Must Be Over Me, 'Cause Now Your Under Him" was on WSVN Country. Our A WSVNRadio Christmas II featured "Jingle Bell Boogie." THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!!

The Renovators are from New York, and consisted of The Hemberger Brothers (Ted & Al), Bob Mayo, and Bob Rasero. Basically a great R&B Blues band, they have all the ingredients for all Rock/R&B/Blues lovers. Six albums are listed on their website, and let us not forget their Rockin' Good Christmas album too. After enjoying their Blues Country album, I just had to get the rest of their catalogue. Special thanks to Al Hemberger, for sending us their Christmas CD.

Where to start? This album is pure greatness all around ... The first 3 tracks are great R&B / Blues: "Rip Up The House," "Everybody Loves The Blues," "The Big One." "Who's To Blame" has a cool Jazz feel. The instrumental "Renovator's Boogie" has a Danny Gatton feel (RIP Danny). For those who rememember the old late 1950s/early 1960s talking song called "Framed," this is the feel for "It's Been Done." Bluesy/Rockabilly has "Something Else," where the gutsy instrumental "Bandaido" has a Stevie Ray Vaughan atmosphere. "Never Really Saw Your Face" slows down the pace a bit, then kicks right back up.

"You Snooze, You Lose" has the Brian Setzer Orchestra feel. Turn it up LOUD on the Bluesy "Special Ride" -- this song KICKS major butt... "Blue Reggae" is quite different, slowed down a bit, a little reggaeish, yet all good. "I Don't Ski" is another talking song, with a cool bluesy background. "I Keep Dreaming" does have that cool, bluesy, dreamy style. The album closes with "Excavator," another cool, slow-driving blues track.

R&B / Blues as heard from The Blues Brothers, R&B Memphis Soul from the 1960s, a little bit of Jazz, Rock & Roll, Rockabilly -- It's all here. The Renovators are a great band to listen to. I've been very impressed with the Country/R&B/Blues acts that would become part of WSVNRadio's Hall of Fame: Brian Lynn Jones & The Misfit Cowboys is another great act to follow. In the style of R&B/Blues, Griff Hamlin, Lou DeAdder, Bob E. Lee, and more recently, Bubba D. Liverance & The Cornhole Prophets. (There are more bands/artists to mention here, and we're very proud to have promoted them all on WSVNRadio.)

Sad to mention, keyboardist/vocalist Bob Mayo passed away in February, 2004. He had performed with the likes of Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Hall & Oates, Dan Fogelberg, Robert Plant, and Aerosmith. An incredible talented musician, with his background, it was very easy to see how The Renovators were -- Very Professional, and a Great Band, with his fellow talented Renovator bandmembers. Al Hemberger has a Facebook account, likewise a facebook fan site on facebook.com. The Renovators can also be found on myspace.

Rhythm And Blueprints is a great album. I can easily see The Renovators opening up for such acts as The Blues Brothers, ZZ Top, Gary Moore, the list goes on and on... I said it before, I'll say it again -- The Renovators are a great R&B/Blues/Country band. They are worth checking out, and well worth having their music in your collection. Also again, we're proud to have promoted them, and we hope to hear new music from them, if and when that happens. Thank you again for being part of our promotions here at WSVNRadio. We always look forward in featuring your music. Amazon.com has all their albums on sale, likewise they can be found at CDBaby.com.
