    "Bad Animals"

Heart, led by the sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, proved that women can hold their own in a male dominant music business force. Since their debut in 1976, they've relesaed some great albums. However, Bad Animals, released in 1987, doesn't fall in this catagory.

This album starts out with a bang with three songs that received a lot of radio airplay: Who Will You Run To, the #1 hit Alone, and There's The Girl. Afterwards, the album tends to lose its direction.

I Want You So Bad and You Ain't So Tough sounds too poppish; Strangers Of The Heart and RSVP are sleepers.

The title track, Bad Animals, catches your attention; Wait For An Answer starts out eerie, then all of a sudden, it slows down drastically. It's not a ballad like Alone or Strangers Of The Heart, but it catches you off-guard. Easy Target is a true-Heart hard rocker.

As much as I love Heart, I was a little disapointed at first. This album has it's moments. There are songs that you could listen to over and over; as for the others, they fall in the old catagory of 'take it or leave it.'
