    K.C. & The Sunshine Band
"The Best Of K.C. And The Sunshine Band"

Yes friends, it's the 1970s again, and Disco!

One of the many groups that were popular during this dance craze, was K.C. & The Sunshine Band. Led by Harry Wayne Casey (K.C.), this group had 5 Number One songs, and they're all here: Get Down Tonight, That's The Way (I Like It), (Shake Shake Shake) Shake Your Booty, I'm Your Boogie Man, and Please Don't Go.

Then there's the other hits that received regular plays: Keep It Comin' Love, Boogie Shoes from Saturday Night Fever, and the happy-go-lucky Give It Up.

The remaining eight songs are those that I didn't remember, although each of them have that same dance-to-the-disco-beat sound, clearly defined by K.C. & The Sunshine Band's other well familar tunes: Sound Your Funky Horn, Queen Of Clubs, Let's Go Rock And Roll, Do You Wanna Go Party, I Like To Do It, Shotgun Shuffle (which is an instrumental, surprisingly), Wrap Your Arms Around Me, and All I Want.

K.C. & The Sunshine Band was a huge success in the prime period of Disco. Back when all of the popular disco groups focused on the disco dance beat, disco also showed songs of love and sex. And with this in mind, seeing these talents were all in tip-top shape. When K.C. & The Sunshine Band came back to tour once again in the Nineties, they appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show, and it was unfortunate to see that K.C. had put on a little weight, and his hairstyle was close to basketball star Michael Jordan's. A completely different look for K.C., but the sound of his band's popular hits was still still there, and was accepted by the audience as one of the many reunion bands that would surface in the 1990s.

But remembering how the band looked and how they sounded from the 1970s is how K.C. & The Sunshine Band is best known. For those willing to rediscover the 1970s and Disco Music, one of the many groups to look and listen to is K.C. & The Sunshine Band. Their song Get Down Tonight was featured on a Budweiser beer commercial, where ants are walking a bottle of Budweiser and tips the bottle into their anthole. After consuming the bottle's contents, the party music begins as as K.C. and Company's first number one record starts playing. A nice touch to the 'ant party' mood.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the big hits more than the minor ones on this album. These are the songs that will be worth repeating, whether you're listening to them yourself, or at a party.
