    "Man In Motion"

Night Ranger returns this week on the WSVNRadio website with their 1988 release, Man In Motion.

The title track has the great 1980s hard rock sound, and if Paul Rodgers and Bad Company were around back then, this song could have easily matched their style. Combining the hard rock with the power ballad, "Reason To Be" is a album favorite, and can easily get the repeated listens. The intro of "Don't Start Thinking (I'm Alone Tonight)" resembles Van Halen's "Love Walks In", as it is another good '80s power ballad/rocker.

Having a definitely '80s hard rock edge, "Love Shot Me Down" has the typical hard rock sound heard in many of the '80s hard rock era. "Restless Kind" brings back a more mellow sound, another pop ballad. "Halfway To The Sun" is another pop hard rocker, likewise "Here She Comes Again." And continuing the hard rock fashion, is "Right On You" and "Kiss Me Where It Hurts." Whitesnake comes to mind on "I Did It For Love," and another great rocker is the ending track, "Woman In Love."

Man In Motion is a fine release. For the hard rock fans of the '80s, this album will be very enjoyable. It's easy to compare NR's sound from this release to many other poopular bands at the time. There weren't any major hit songs from this release, yet the album has its wonderful moments.
