    "Sorry"

Catherine may not be a household name in Alternative Rock Music, but a friend of mine was collecting some various Alt Band CDs, and Catherine's Sorry was part of it. Smashing Pumpkins is best compared to this release, with its loud Alternative Rock style, and it also has some very nice soft mellower songs.

"Songs About Girls" starts out the album, and has a typical Alt Rock style, where "Funny Bunny" relates to the Smashing Pumpkins. "Every Christian Lionhearted Man Will Show You" has a darker side sound starting out, yet this Bee Gees remake has some accoustical guitar works, and blends into the typical Alt Rock sound. Smashing Pumpkins relates to the mellow "Her Pills," likewise "2 AM" is a very sweet mellow ballad.

"Saint" returns with the typical Alt Rock sound, with its grinding guitars and such, yet it blends into a softer rock touch and kicks back to the typical Alt Rock loud sound. A moodier, eerie style is heard on "Inchworm," Smashing Pumpkins Rock best relates to "Broken Bunny Bird" and "Dollhouse." The title track has a softer side in sound, "Flawless" is just ok, and "Waterfall" is another moody, eerie 10-minute+ sounding song.

Smashing Pumpkins is best to compare to Catherine's Sorry. Although it has its moments, the softer ballads are the standouts. The other "rockers" sounds just as any other popular Alternative Rock bands, yet for the fan of Smashing Pumpkins and the likes, this one should be enjoyable.
