    "I Love Rock N' Roll"

The song I Love Rock N Roll became a radio staple on radio stations all over, and made Joan Jett & The Blackhearts a household name for the summer of 1982. Before the Blackhearts, she was a member of The Runaways, with another strong female singer, Lita Ford. Jett would have the upper hand than Ford, having a song such as "I Love Rock N Roll" becoming a popular favorite, at the time it was popular and the decades to follow.

"(I'm Gonna) Run Away" and "Love Is Pain" have a more punk meets rock feel. "Nag" has a somewhat early Beatles style, as if The Beatles were to emerge their early style with the current late 1970s (punk) and early 1980s rock. "Crimson And Clover" was a remake, originally recorded by Tommy James & The Shondells. Jett's version is almost as good, and almost sounding the same as the original, yet with a few upbeat rock riffs between some verses.

"Victim Of Circumstance" is another rockish/punkish styled song, almost sounding like a faster-paced "Mickey" by Toni Basil. "Bits And Pieces" is a remake (in punk/rock style) of the Dave Clark Five. "Be Straight" continues the rock heard in previous songs (Punk/Rock), yet "You're Too Possesive" defimitely sounds more Rock than Punk. Christmas comes early in 2008, as Jett's rock version of "Little Drummer Boy" is very well-done, in rock n roll style.

The remaining 3 songs are bonus tracks. "Oh Woe Is Me" is another Jett Rock-ing Punk-ish styled song. The Kingsmen's "Louie Louie" is a pretty good version, and "You Don't Know What You've Got" is a live version, as it was the 45 rpm B-side to "I Love Rock N Roll".

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts' I Love Rock N Roll album captures the band as sounding more Punk than Rock, comparing more to that of the Punk rock band The Ramones. Most of the songs here sound the same, but for the true die-hard Punk rock fan, this album would be more enjoyable. Joan Jett's album Bad Reputation is better than I Love Rock N Roll, but as the title says, it's all Rock N Roll.
