Soundtrack "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"
For those of you who have never seen this movie, you probably were not born by the year 1981. This Steven Spielberg
classic, is one of the best films ever made. Harrison Ford stars as Indiana Jones, as everyone was familiar with his
character from the Star Wars movie series, Han Solo. Ironically, the original actor for the Indiana Jones role was
supposed to be Tom Selleck. Tom Selleck would later make a movie almost similiar to Raiders, High Road to
China (1983).
John Williams, the famous music conductor, provided a great soundtrack for this movie. Of course, we are all
familiar with the theme of Raiders, as there are two versions of this song on the soundtrack; Raiders Of The
Lost Ark, The Raiders March. They are both basically the same, yet one is longer than the other.
The rest of the soundtrack is equally powerful as the familiar main theme. "Flight From Peru" has the familar
sound as the main theme, as if heard outside from watching the movie, you would know it was from the movie. "The Map
From Dawn" is spooky, yet mysterious, and has a great orchestration, and powerful towards its end.
"The Basket Game" is "chipper" in sound, an excitable tune. Energy and mystery involves "The Well Of The Souls."
"Desert Chase" is also energetic, and has the familiar Raiders main theme. Both "Marion's Theme"
and "The Miracle Of The Ark" are calm songs, yet powerful in sound.
No doubt, this is movie music. Its the music that made Raiders Of The Lost Ark this movie even great as the
movie itself. There have been other Indiana Jones movies, yet I still like the first one the best. Good energy levels
while listening to this soundtrack. The movie itself never gets tiring. If you haven't experienced this movie, rent it,
or buy it. It's worth it.
