"THe Best Of Don Williams-Volume 2: The Millennium Collection"

Don Williams has returned within the year, with a second volume of his best work. The Best Of Volume 2: The Millennium Collection focuses on his later years (1978 to 1984). He would cover 99.9% of his #1 hits on Anthology. His last two #1s, "Stay Young" and "That's The Thing About Love" were not on the Anthology, instead they appeared on this week's review, "The Best Of-Volume 2: The Millennium Collection.

Don Williams' Country music is phenomenal. True Country. His voice is distinctive. A great Counry voice. His music should be enjoyed by any Country fan. This Millennium Collection captures 12 great songs, in which four tracks would hit #1. Besides the ones earlier mentioned, the others were "It Must Be Love" (which Alan Jackson would remake and also hit #1), "Love Me Over Again," and "Love Is On A Roll." In fact, each of the 12 songs were all Top Ten hits. Also to mention, is the he is also a songwriter, writing/co-writing most of his hits.

Songs such as "I've Got A Winner In You," "Lay Down Beside Me," "Love Me Over Again" are all classic Don Williams, with his great voice singing as best as he could. Alan Jackson comes to mind on "Rake And Ramblin' Man"; it's a song you could actually hear Jackson sing. "Falling Again" and "Miracles" are songs that frankly, I didn't really remember, and with a title as "Listen To The Radio," not only is the title worth mentioning, but it's also a song that I do remember hearing back in the day. And how did "Nobody But You" not reach #1? It is another great Don Williams track. All 12 tracks covered here, and, this collection is a great one to have. Despite not finding one collection containing all of his #1 hits, this album does stand out for his later years of his hits.

Don Williams is a Country legend. His music never ceases to disappoint. Great music, great voice, great hits. It's all here on his Millennium Collection. Some of his original albums have been reissued on CD. Yet it's his Top Ten Hits (and there were so many of them) that we will always remember. He is now 76 years old, and since his popular years, he has continued to record albums. His latest was released in 2014.
