    "Love Is The Answer"

Barbra Streisand's first album as our Album Pick of the Week was in October, 2015. Her second appearance on WSVNRadio is her #1 album from 2009, Love Is The Answer. The theme of this album are jazz standards. It was produced by Diana Krall, another Jazz favorite. And with her being producer, there is no doubt that this album would be, like many of Krall's releases, (and the same for Streisand), a great album. Diana Krall also plays piano on this album. Love Is The Answer would reach #1 on Billboard's Top 200 Album chart, and at #2 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart. In looking at the Jazz album charts, she has yet to reach the top of this chart, compared to the many #1 albums on the Top 200.

Just as her music always has been, and for her albums, there isn't one bad track on Love Is The Answer. It's beautiful, easy listening music. It's beautiful jazz. This album is a classic. And as previously mentioned, another Jazz great helps on the piano on the album, Diana Krall.

This album is just beautiful -- the beautiful music, the superb Streisand voice, and the fabulous Krall piano. "Here's To Life" is just that word -- Beautiful. "In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning" is a jazz classic, with piano highlights. "Gentle Rain" is not only a great tune, but it's very Krall-sounding too.

Then there's "If You Go Away" -- probably one of the most saddest songs ever written, as I remember Glen Campbell's version. Streisand's version is sad also, a Jazz sad. On the up side, there's more beautiful songs to enjoy: "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most," and "Make Someone Happy." Likewise, "Where Do You Start" is beautiful, and with beautiful piano too.

Let's just say that the remaining tracks have all one word in common: Beautiful. "A Time For Love," "Here's That Rainy Day" (a song to listen to on a rainy day, or any day, for that matter). The Platters' oldie classic "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" gets a Streisand Jazz makeover. "Some Other Time" is yes, another beautiful track, and the bonus track "You Must Believe In Spring" is great, with beautiful piano as well.

Barbra Streisand has proved with no doubt, that she is one of the most finest singers and entertainers in popular music. Love Is The Answer is a must-have. For the fans of Easy Listening and Jazz, this is one album that you will truly enjoy. More of her music will follow for reviews here. Her first one (as mentioned earlier) was in October 2015 - Barbra Streisand's Greatest Hits (her first volume); a great collection of her early music. It is amazing that she has recorded and has had one #1 album (or more) in each decade since her existence. That's 50 years of Barbra Streisand music. Barbra Streisand is a legend, and she still records great music time, and time again.
