"Quiet Nights"
Today is Sunday, September 22, 2019. On what would have been our third wedding anniversary, my wife, Norma, is in Heaven.
She passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, from complications of open heart surgery. She was diabetic. She was 56 years old. We were together
just shy of 13 years, as we first met on September 22, 2006, at Bambino's Restuarant, in Steger, Illinois. We were married on September 22, 2016.
Throughout those 13 years, she was the love of my life. Our relationship was extremely happy. People who knew us saw the love. I learned so much from her.
Now, as she is no longer with us, she is in my heart, as I will always remember her, and keeping her love with me.
Diana Krall's Quiet Nights is a good album to listen to, as I remember my wife, and treasure all the memories we had. I Love You, Norma, with all
my heart.

Diana Krall returns with another review, and as expected, it is another great album. Quiet Nights was released in 2009. And just as
the album title, this album is a great companion for those quiet nights, special occasions, or just sipping from a bottle of wine.
Focusing on Bossa Nova Jazz, this is a great album on that particular type of Jazz. Superb, relaxing Jazz at its finest -- "Where Or When,"
"Too Marvelous For Words," "I've Been Accustomed To His Face." Then there are those recognizable Jazz songs for those who know Jazz very well --
"The Boy From Ipanema" (the female version of Getz/Gilberto's "The Girl From Ipanema." "So Nice" is also easily remembered from other
Jazz artists, and Krall puts her own creative touch on both of these Jazz classics. Outstanding, and superb, Krall also puts her own creativity on
Dionne Warwick's "Walk On By."
More of superb and relaxing Jazz gets "You're My Thrill," "Este Seu Olhar." Simply beautiful has the title track, and "Guess I'll Hang
My Tears Out To Dry." There are two bonus tracks. It is a thrill to hear how rock songs can be "converted" to another genre. This is how Krall
spins her Jazz magic on the Bee Gees' "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart." Truly a standout, being a bonus track. The other bonus track is
another beautiful song, "Every Time We Say Goodbye."
Diana Krall once again has recorded another great Jazz album, Quiet Nights. As one review I read, it is mentioned: All [of the songs]
are given a breezy treatment by Krall's quintet and with strings. Krall, as a vocal performer, is placed front and center with little to draw one's
attention from her. Krall's voice is breathy and spare, as is her piano playing. Sexy is not the adjective to describe this recording. A word
deeper and more dense, where the physical and spiritual mingle, is necessary; a word not yet invented.
Well put. Those words definitely are a great description. A great album, by Diana Krall.
