    "Live In Dublin"

The Corrs' Live In Dublin was a VH1 concert on its television station. What brought my attention from this concert was their song with U2's Bono -- "When The Stars Go Blue." This song was moving, the video performance with Bono as well. It is just one of those songs that made me say, "Wow, this is a great tune, and very well performed." The harmonies on the "whoo-whoo's" were truly exceptional.

The Corrs are an Irish band, from Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. Their Pop Rock style includes traditional Irish music. The Corrs are a family act of 3 sisters and 1 brother: Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle, ukulele); Sharon (violin, vocals); Caroline (drums, percussion, piano, bodhrán, vocals) and Jim (guitar, piano, keyboards, vocals). They would become more popular outside the U.S.; in the UK and Australia, as well as 15 other countries. They have also been involved in charity works and its concerts. They have released seven studio albums, and three live albums. Their most recent album was released in 2017, Jupiter Calling. They have also released three best of/greates hits compilations.

The concert begins with "Would You Be Happier" comparing to the likes of 10,000 Maniacs and/or the Cranberries. "Breathless" is a good rocking track, and then there's "When The Stars Go Blue" with Bono, as mentioned. Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" gets an exceptional review here from the Coors, as the vocals are the standout, and it's not really guitar-driven, as what it sounds like flutes gets the main instrument. And towards the end, guest Ron Wood (Rolling Stones) gets the guitar solo. This version is slow-driven as heard from Stevie Ray Vaughan, but the vocals of Andrea Corr makes the grade here.

Their Irish roots shines on the instrumental "Joy Of Life/Trout In The Bath" as it truly sounds like "the luck of the Irish" theme music, with violins and all.

The vocals of the three Corr sisters are the standout throughout the album, as "Runaway" has great vocals for this slow-styled track. Their take on Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" also has exceptional vocals.

Both "Radio" and "So Young" are also good tunes, and Bono returns on the countryish "Summer Wine." His singing style makes it nostalgic, as this song was written by Lee Hazlewood (who would be popular back in the 1960s, as he recorded songs with Nancy Sinatra; likewise known as a successful songwriter). In fact, Hazlewood and Sinatra recorded this song together, in 1967.

And closing out the concert is their cover of the Rolling Stones' "Ruby Tuesday" with Ron Wood returning with them. It's another great version, with great vocals.

The Corrs' Live In Dublin is a great concert to relax by. The vocals of the Corr sisters are the standout, likewise having guest appearances by Bono and Ron Wood. The songs featuring Bono are also standouts, as "When The Stars Go Blue" is a great tune, and the nostalgic "Summer Wine." From my recollection of watching the concert on VH1, it was a great concert, and VH1 had always presented great programming, especially their biography series Behind The Music, and other biography related shows. And of course, their concert series, comparing to MTV's Unplugged series. VH1 gets the credit here, being a "VH1 Presents" concert. (In looking up this album, the title is VH1 Presents: The Corrs, Live In Dublin.

A great concert, a fantastic live recording -- The Corrs' Live In Dublin is worth checking out.
