    "Make Blues Not War"

Blues artist Mike Zito debuts this week, with his 2016 release, Make Blues Not War. This album would become his first (and certainly not last) #1 album on Billboard's Blues Albums chart. (As of this date, he has had a total of three #1 Blues albums.) Zito's blues style on this album is definitely Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, Hard Rock. An album that certainly will grab your attention, for the fans of Rock and Blues alike.

The album leads off with a Classic (Hard) Rock + Blues sounding tune, "Highway Mama." This song has the styles of Gary Moore, and ZZ Top. Boogie Woogie blues has "Wasted Time." Hard rock blues gets "Redbird;" it evens gets psychedelic towards its end. High speed fast blues has the next tune, and its another good blues rocker -- "Crazy Legs."

The title track is next, as it is a cool, slow driving 3-chord blues tune. This album just keeps getting better -- "On The Road" is a great, head-bouncing Rock Blues track. Another (great) slow driving blues tune follows, "Bad News Is Coming." "One More Train" has an upbeat Southern Rock feel, as in Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Girl Back Home" is a good blues tune, yet there other tunes that are better. But that doesn't make it a bad tune either.

"Chip Off The Block" is another good head-bouncer boogie blues track. Did you ever see those videos where you're on a train ride? "Road Dog" is a good song to listen to while on that ride -- A nice, smooth, driving blues tune. The albums ends with "Route 90" -- a Chuck Berry-styled tune, as in "Sweet Little Sixteen." (In fact, Mike Zito recorded a tribute [with friends] to Chuck Berry -- Rock 'n' Roll: A Tribute to Chuck Berry, in 2019.)

Mike Zito's Make Blues Not War" is a must-have, for your Rock and Blues collection. Zito proves himself as a great Rock & Roll/Blues artist. This album is more compared to Gary Moore, especially his vocals. Not only is there the comparison to Moore, ZZ Top is another one also. There isn't one bad track on this album. Upbeat Blues, smooth Blues, boogie woogie blues. A little touch of Psychedelia, and nostalgic rock and rock. It's all here, as Mike Zito is one of today's highly talented blues artists. As mentioned in a very positive review from Blues Blast Magazine:

Everything here is tight and interesting. The dozen cuts that are recorded here energize the soul and aptly demonstrate Zito and his talents. He's at the top of his game here. His fans will love this and those unfamiliar with Zito will get a taste of his enormous talent. This is a winner and is highly recommended!

Check out Make Blue Not War by Mike Zito. You will not be disappointed.
