"Judge Jerrod And The Hung Jury"
Country artist (and yes, it IS Country) Judge Jerrod's Judge Jerrod And The Hung Jury was released in 2010.
The huge hit from it was "Lover Lover." It's a great Country song, and the video is just as exceptional. It was
a #1 hit for him, for one week, in August, 2010.
"Intro" sure sounds like a commercial of a major event - Judge Jerrod And The Hung Jury. "They
Should Have Named You Cocaine" - Despite the cocaine reference, this is a very good Country tune, leading off the
album. "Lover Lover" is next, and it's a catchy tune, and truthfully, one of the best songs from the "new"
Country. "Phone Call At 3 A.M." is just that - a recorded phone call, at 3 A.M. "Down In Mexico" is another
(great) Country tune. It's a song that Kenny Chesney could have recorded. It's very good. "What Do You Want"
has a bit more serious sound, and it has a George Strait feel to it. "A Friendly Request" is a short piece, where
Jerrod is taking that "friendly request." More good Country music continues with the next track, "The Buckin' Song."
It's one of those good honky-tonkin' sounding tunes. Maybe good for a Country line dance, yet it's a little fast for that.
Giddy up. "Old School New Again" is a slow-paced tune, and yes, it's another GOOD Country tune. Another George
Strait'ish sound. "Intermission" is just that. Take a break, from this great album, or "movie."
"Come Back To Me" is another good tune, where other tunes are better. It has a more "Rock" sound, but no doubt,
it does match the album's contents of good Country music. "Drunken Complaint" is a very short "complaint." A
drunken one. (No complaints here, so far.) "How Can I Be So Thirsty" is your typical drinkin' Country tune, and
yes, it's another great track! "How Can I Be So Thirsty, after all I drank last night." Great Country lyric! Whenever
I hear the word "Bakersfield," I think of Buck Owens. Yet, Jerrod's song of this title, is another great slow-paced
Country-styled track. Another artist comes to mind on this one, Billy Dean's "Let Them Be Little." Another short
piece, from "A Concerned Fan."
"One More Drinkin' Song" has a Tropical style (Jimmy Buffett'ish), and again, another very good Country tune,
with a typical Country song title. More of the slow-paced Country is heard on >"I Hope You Get What You Deserve."
The short piece "Deep Thoughts" is mystery. Another short "commercial." "For Everclear" is another great
catchy-sounding Country tune. (For Everclear - the band?) "Outro" - you made it this far. If you're not drunk...
The verdict is in - Jerrod Niemann's Judge Jerrod And The Hung Jury is a FANTASTIC COUNTRY album! The short
"commercials" truly makes it sound like you're experiencing a Country "movie". All the songs are definitely having a great
Country sound, and being released in 2010, this is what Country music should sound like today. Judge Jerrod And The
Hung Jury was his third album of his discography. He has released four albums afterwards (2012-2017). He has had
singles released from those four albums, but none reached #1. If you're looking to hear what today's Country should
sound like, give Judge Jerrod And The Hung Jury a listen. Guilty - as charged, the charge is GOOD COUNTRY MUSIC.
