Rollover was a band from the 1990s. Their first record captured the spotlight on Chicago's 93.1 WXRT FM radio. Their breakout single "Shipwreck" catapulted the band to the forefront of the music scene. Rollover's signature sound is a mesmerizing fusions of Roots Rock and the Blues, captivating audiences with every note. Lead by Louie Zagoras, a seasoned musician, a true pioneer in the world of rock and blues. With a career spanning several decades, he has left an indelible mark on the music industry. As the founder, lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the acclaimed band Rollover, Louie has consistently delivered a unique and electrifying musical experience.
Rollover released three albums, from 1993 to 2007. Louie Zagoras released his first solo album in 2007, Twenty Fingers. This week, we look at Rollover's debut album from 1996, where "Shipwreck" was the hit single from the album.

"Shipwreck" leads off the album, as it has a great Rock sound. It could pass as Alternative Rock. "Give It Up" is also great; it has a smooth Rock rhythm. This song was featured on the TV show Nash Bridges, starring Don Johnson. "Burning Time" burns it up, with its great Rock sound (again). Slowing things down a bit (and in a good way) is the next track, "Missing You." "Say A Prayer" keeps the album flowing as an exceptional album. "In This World" is no exception, with its upbeat, constant energy Rock.

"Boxcar Willy" is catchy; it has another great Rock feel. "Everything Keeps Rolling" definitely keeps that Rock going. The Blues (as heard in the Rolling Stones' "Beggars Banquet" has the intro to "Love One Woman." and as for the rest of the song, it definitely has a great Rock and Blues feel. The (psychedelic) guitar works great on "Milkfish." (That psych guitar is heard throughout the album, and it just makes the album even better.) The intro "Pick It Up (Trick Of The Hand)" guitar brings back the comparable sound of Jimi Hendrix ("Angel".) The song itself has a mystery to it, yet it's another good track, fitting the album. Ending the album is "At The Gates Of Love," another great tune, with the acoustic guitar. A good way to end the album.

Rollover's debut is a great album. It has Rock, Alternative, Blues. Louie Zagaros' guitar is exceptional. Rollover is still together, touring currently throughout the Illinois area. They have shared the stage with many of the Rock greats: The Allman Brothers, Joe Satriani, Sheryl Crow, Blues Traveler, The Neville Brothers, Dave Mason, Los Lobos, Jimmy Vaughan, John Hiatt, Johnny Winter, Buddy Guy, Robin Trower, Cheap Trick, Hot Tuna, The BoDeans, Buddy Miles, Eddie Money, Foghat, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Savoy Brown, Lucinda Williams, Earl King, Gatemouth Brown, and many more.

Rollover is a great debut album. If you're a fan of Rock and Blues, you will enjoy this one.
