Sean Combs - The Artist formerly known as: Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy. Recently, he is known as a criminal - He was involved in a high-profile sexual assault lawsuit filed by his former partner Cassie Ventura. Numerous lawsuits regarding sexual misconduct were filed in the following months, with several claimants alleging sexual and abuse by Combs between 1991 and 2009. In March 2024, several of Comb's properties weree raided by the Department of Homeland Security, and that September he was charged with federal sex trafficing, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering. He pled not guilty and was denied bail three times. His trial began on May 5, 2025; on July 2, he was found guilty of transporation to engage in prostitution, but not guilty on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. As of October 3, 2025, he is incarerated at the Federal Correctional Institution, fort Dix. On October 3, 2025, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison with credit for 12 months time served. As of 1997, he has had many legal issues, which would lead to his most recent charges, which now has himself in prison.
On the business side, Combs had been very successful, with clothing, fashion, charities, and music. He was close friends with Christopher Wallace, better known as Biggie Smalls and most famously as The Notorious B.I.G. His tragic death affected Combs personally. He recorded the #1 hit "I'll Be Missing You," using the Police's "Every Breath You Take" (#1 for 11 weeks). It was from the album credited as Puff Daddy and the Family, No Way Out. Of his 5 solo albums, three were #1, on Billboard's Albums chart: No Way Out (1997), We Invented The Remix (2002; a compilation remix album, credited as P. Diddy & Bad Boy Records Present..., and Press Play (2006), credited as Diddy. One of those #1 albums is the WSVNRadio Album Pick of the Week - We Invented The Remix.
Three singles from the album: "I Need A Girl (Part One), "I Need A Girl (Part Two" and "Special Delivery (Remix) (by G. Dep). The "I Need A Girl" (Parts One and Two) were not from previous albums, as most of the remaining tracks were Remixes from earlier releases.
"Intro" - a minor introduction. G. Dep's Special Delivery (Remix)" is "your typical rap crap remix," with typical rap swearing. The remix features Ghostface Killah, Keith Murray, and Craig Mack. The original was from G. Dep's debut studio album, Child Of The Ghetto. P. Diddy's "I Need A Girl (Part Two)" is next, and it not as bad as the other rap crap tracks out there. (And Part Two is heard first.) TAhe remix features Ginuvine, Loon, Mario Winans, and Tammy Ruggieri. P. Diddy's "Bad Bad For LIfe (Remix)" was originally from his The Saga Continues... And yes, it's another rap crap track. The remix features Busta Rhymes and M.O.P. P. Diddy's "I Need A Girl (Part One)" has the rap groove, yet Part Two is better. The remix features Usher and Loon.
    P. Diddy's "The Remix Phenonmenon (Interlude)" is another rap crap track. Interludes are normally short instrumentals. This one is not. Rap. Crap. Ashanti's original "Foolish" was a #1 hit. The "Unfoolish" remix remix features The Notorious B.I.G., and to be honest, the original is way much better. 112's Dance With Ne/Peaches And Cream" remixes has The Notorious B.I.G. beats (Dance With Me, and Peaches And Cream has a Nelly vibe. All in all, it's a typical rap track, with swearing. Typical. The remixes features Beanie Siegel ("Dance With Me") and Ludacris "Peaches And Cream") Mary J. Blige's "No More Drama" was originally from Blige's album of the same track name. The remix features P. Diddy. It's an upbeat track for Mary, with P. Diddy's rapping. P. Diddy and Cheri Dennis' So Complete (Remix)" is nothing special. Another R&B styled track.
"The Notorious B.I.G. (Remix)" was originally from Biggie's Born Again album. The remix features Lil' Kim and P. Diddy. As the opening line says, "This is the Remix..." It's Biggie, at his rappin' best. Rap. P. Diddy's "That's Crazy" remix features Black Rob, Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, and G. Rep. It's another rap cap track. That's Crazy. Snoop Dogg makes the track. That's Crazy. Carl Thomas' "Woke Up In The Morning (Remix)" has a Notorious B.I.G. vibe (Biggie was featured on this track, so it all makes sense). Thomas' voice is quite good, along with Biggie's help. Faith Evans' "You Gets No Love" was originally from her Faithfully. The remix features G. Rep, and uses Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)." The use of the Eurythmics track makes the remix. (I haven't heard the original, just wondering if the Euryhmics song is also there?)
    P. Diddy's We Invented The Remix has it's moments, both good and bad. The R&B styled tracks are the standouts, where the rap crap tracks easily takes the pass. When he was in his musical prime, Diddy did manage to produce, direct, and record some decent R&B influenced and rap tracks. It's a shame how his personal life affected him. Just as others, R. Kelly and Bill Cosby, their sex allegations lead their lives to dramatic lows. But during his musical years, he was accomplishing top-status in the R&B/Rap genres, at the time.
    P. Diddy We Invented The Remix had critics saying the songs probably didn't need the Remix treatment; the originals didn't need it:
"If anything it proves that some songs DON'T need a remix, and even those that do should be given better treament than the selection was here. If you can't find the albumn on sale or at a comparable price it's just not a good investment. The only thing P. Diddy "invented" here was a mediocre album."
"An accurate description Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs resume in an album title would be "We Made The Remix More Popular."
True. We Invented The Remix has it's moments. P. Diddy put his touches on the Remix phase on each track. Some good, and the others not as good. They all passed in P. Diddy's mind, and his Remix World.
