    "Blues Country"

The Renovators RETURN as our Album Pick of the Week, with Blues Country -- the album of which I was first introduced to of this band, as they would become part of our WSVNRadio Hall Of Fame (Volume 9).

Led by Al Hemberger, The Renovators' music features top-notch Country and Blues. Blues Country is definitely a great album title; the title track is just as exceptional.

There is not one bad song on this album. Two of the songs would be promoted on our Hall of Fame series: The title track on Volume 9, and "You Must Be Over Me 'Cause Now You're Under Him" on WSVN Country.

Another great Country title (and a common phrase as well), is "Drinkin' You Off My Mind." I can easily see many Country radio and Country internet radio stations playing this song, with very positive results. "That Lonesome Whistle Sound" is another one on that playlist; it's a great Country ballad.

"Between The Lines" does fit Country and Rock, yet it's more on the Rock side. Either way, it's another great song. On the more gentler side, there are tunes such as "She Took The Wrong Way Home"," A Man Of Her Own," "The Deepest Blue," "No Better Place To Be (River Song)." "The Heart Knows What's Real" is another gentler tune, yet it has a more Soulful sound. (Incredible)

For the traditional Honky-Tonk'ers, songs such as "The Girls Are Out" and "Ten Gallon Heart" can easily be used at the Country linedances. There are two versions of "Dancin' With Lorraine"; as they both have the Americana Rock feel, also in the style of Americana John Mellencamp. (Just incredible music... incredible!)

I've said it before, The Renovators is a band that SHOULD be accepting major awards, such as American Music, and even the Grammys. I am very proud to have this band as part of our Hall of Fame. We've promoted them four times now -- Volume 9, WSVN Country, A WSVNRadio Christmas II, A WSVNRadio Christmas II, and (the future release of) WSVN Blues. All of their albums are worth checking out, including the previously reviewed Rhythm And Blueprints. (MORE of their albums WILL be reviewed!)

UPDATE: The Renovators' are also on our WSVNRadio Blues compilation.
